BNCT concept for DD neutron generator

Adelphi Technology’s neutron generators are useful in a wide variety of applications. This source of neutrons is more convenient than using radioactive sources; also, when the power to the generator is removed, the neutrons stop being emitted, so these sources are intrinsically safe. In many cases Adelphi’s high intensity neutron generators can be used where only nuclear reactors provided sufficient flux, enabling low-cost laboratory systems for a range of applications. The neutron generators may be pulsed or may emit neutrons continuously.

The generation of pulses of neutrons opens up a range of additional applications such as differential die-away analysis (DDAA) which is used for security applications for the detection of special nuclear materials (SNM). It also enables noise reduction for neutron radiography and neutron activation analysis. These techniques provide a means for non-destructive evaluation and testing as well as a materials science probe. In the field of security, our generators can be used for explosive material detection, chemical weapon identification, land mine detection, and have possible benefits as inspection tools to identify narcotics.
